Home Products Cast Iron Electrodes CAST BRONZE (AWS A5.6: ECuSn-C)

Thin Coated Electrode for Welding of Copper and Copper-Tin Alloys

Classification:

  • AWS/SFA-5.6: E CuSn-C

Characteristics:

A thin coated electrode designed for welding copper and copper-tin alloys. Suitable for welding copper or bronze to steels. For best results, use a short arc and control interpass temperature.

Applications:

  • Welding cast iron without preheating if machinability is not required.
  • Cladding applications.
  • Welding bushes, brass parts, valve seats, bearings, ship propellers, malleable iron, galvanized iron, and impeller blades.

Re-Dry Condition:

Re-dry the electrode at 150°C for 1 hour before use.

Welding Precaution:

  • Preheat the workpiece to approximately 300°C when welding copper or bronze.
  • Do not allow the working temperature to exceed 400°C to avoid hot shortness.
  • For large jobs, maintain an interpass temperature of 300°C.
