Air Hardening Type Electrode for Resistance to Severe Abrasion and Moderate Impact

Classification:

  • DIN 8555: E1-UM-60

Characteristics:

A medium heavy coated, air hardening electrode for overlaying hard surfaces on mild steel and low alloy carbon steel. The weld deposits are non-machinable and can only be ground. It is best suited for applications involving severe abrasion, moderate impact, or both together. Recommended to use RATNA 18/8/5 or RATNA 7016 as a buffer layer on austenitic or carbon steels.

Applications:

  • Mine rails, dredger bucket lips, plough shares.
  • Crusher hammers, drilling bits.
  • Bamboo and cane cutting knives, conveyor buckets, crane wheels, oil expellers, etc.

Re-Dry Condition:

Re-dry the electrode at 120°C for 30–60 minutes before use for best results.
