RATNA 8045 P2 H4R (AWS A 5.5 E8045 P2 H4R) – High Strength Pipe Welding Electrode (Vertical Down Position)

AWS/SFA-5.5: E 8045 P2 H4R

Characteristics:

Low hydrogen type, moisture resistant electrode specifically designed for welding hot, fill, and cap passes in high strength pipe butt joints using vertical downward progression. Not recommended for vertical upward welding or root pass (stringer bead) on open gaps.

Application:

  • Welding of high strength API 5L pipe steels.
  • Suitable for other high strength, medium and high carbon, and low alloy steels.
  • Hot tapping and pipe repairing.

Re-Dry Condition:

No need for drying. The electrodes are vacuum packed and can be used straight on the job.
Hydrogen content: 4 ml/100g max (typical: 2.50 ml/100g weld metal), measured as per AWS/ANSI 4.3-86 specification.
